Investing in the Future: Spencer Educational Foundation Awards Record-Breaking Number of Scholarships in 2024

Empowering Tomorrow's Risk Management and Insurance Leaders

New York, NY (July 2, 2024) – The Spencer Educational Foundation celebrates a monumental achievement in its 45-year history, awarding a record-breaking $717,500 in scholarships to 105 deserving students. 2024 marks the highest number of recipients and total amount awarded.

The merit-based scholarships support undergraduate, full-time master's, part-time master's, and Ph.D. students across the United States and Canada who are pursuing careers in risk management, insurance, and actuarial science.

"The industry is stepping up in a big way to address the looming talent crisis, and this level of scholarship funding is a testament to that," said Megan Miller, Spencer Executive Director. " We are committed to fostering a diverse and talented pipeline of candidates for our partners. We congratulate all our scholarship recipients and look forward to their contributions to the industry!”

Spencer continues to expand its scholarship offerings, including six newly named scholarships from donor partners Arch Insurance Group, Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), Philadelphia Insurance Companies, RIMS Connecticut Valley Chapter, RIMS New Jersey Chapter, and the Young Risk Professionals of Georgia. This year, Spencer awarded 66 named scholarships totaling $382,500, with 30 of them designated explicitly for merit-based diversity scholarships to support students from historically underrepresented groups.
