Sloop’s and Srinivasan’s appointments are effective as of September 1, 2022.

“We are thrilled to expand our board to include long-time corporate supporters Amwins and Arch,” expressed Ron Davis, Spencer’s Board Composition and Governance Chair. “And moreover, we are delighted to add colleagues of such high caliber in Sue and Ben.  Their unique skillsets and influential positions in the industry will only enhance Spencer’s trajectory of success and expand our reach to more and more students.”

Benjamin R. Sloop currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Amwins. Prior to taking on the role of COO, Ben had served as president of the small business division, Amwins Access, since its inception in January 2015. The following year, he joined Amwins in an M&A role. He left Amwins in late 2007 to attend Stanford Business School. Ben worked for Bills.com, a Silicon Valley start-up, until October 2011, when he joined Amwins once again.

“We are thrilled to have Ben serve in this role for the Spencer Educational Foundation,” said James Drinkwater, President of Amwins. “It is very important for our firm and for our industry to prepare the next generation of leaders. Working to help advance the important work of Spencer is one way we can make sure we actively participate in providing educational opportunity for those who soon will serve in leadership positions.”

Previously, she served as Senior Vice President of Retail Strategy and Marketing. Prior to joining Arch in 2019, she spent nearly 15 years in several different roles at Marsh USA Inc. Sue has a Master of Business Administration from St. John’s University and a Bachelor of Arts from Johns Hopkins University.

“With the addition of Sue to the Spencer Educational Foundation Board, the group is gaining a top-notch leader and someone who embodies the organization’s mission,” said Matt Shulman, CEO of Arch Insurance North America. “We truly value Arch’s partnership with the Spencer Educational Foundation, and I know the organization will benefit from Sue’s deep industry experience and personal passion for fostering a diverse pipeline of talent for tomorrow’s insurance leaders.”
