Spencer Gala Raises Over $1.5 Million and Honors Lilian Vanvieldt-Gray

Insurance Industry Leader Alliant EVP Lilian Vanvieldt-Gray Honored at 2024 Funding Their Future Gala Event

New York, NY (September 24, 2024) – The Spencer Educational Foundation’s 2024 Funding Their Future Gala was a resounding success, highlighting and supporting the future of Risk Management and the Insurance industry. The event, which took place at the prestigious Cipriani 42nd Steet in New York City, brought together over 400 attendees for a glamorous evening dedicated to supporting future leaders in Risk Management and Insurance.

One of the evening's highlights was the honoring of Lilian Vanvieldt-Gray, Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer at Alliant Insurance Services, for her remarkable contributions to the industry. Mrs. Vanvieldt-Gray's dedication and leadership have been instrumental in shaping a more diverse and inclusive future for the industry, making her a deserving recipient of this prestigious recognition.

Reflecting on being honored, Vanvieldt-Gray shared her gratitude and excitement: "I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank my mother for her profound sacrifice and unwavering dedication to our success.  My parents taught us the value of hard work, perseverance, and grace.  It was drilled into me.  Never believe that anyone is better than you, and never think that you are better than anyone else. Do something that matters, not something that is easy.  I use those life lessons daily.”

The Gala not only celebrated Vanvieldt-Gray's accomplishments but also showcased Spencer’s far-reaching impact and served as a fundraising platform for the Foundation’s ongoing programs and initiatives. Through generous sponsorships and contributions from attendees, the event raised over $1.5 million, which will be used to support scholarships and grants aimed at bolstering the talent pipeline.

"We are thrilled with the overwhelming support we received at the Spencer 2024 Gala," said Spencer Board Chair and EVP, Chief Operating Officer of Surety at Chubb, Teresa Black. "The funds raised will play a crucial role in providing educational opportunities and resources for the next generation of industry professionals. We are grateful to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event a tremendous success."
